ABOUT ME
Cassandra Tamayo, MS, SLP
Owner | CEO
Speech - Language Pathologist,
Communication Improvement Coach
pronouns: she/they
Hello! I am glad you found us! My name is Cassandra Tamayo, I am a 1.5th-generation Chinese-American. I was born in Hong Kong and immigrated to the US when I was a kid. Many of my extended family members have immigrated to the US from abroad.

Why is that important? Because I have seen family, friends, and those in my community struggle to communicate with others around them while speaking a high-level of English (using appropriate grammar and vocabulary). I have seen them get passed up for speaking engagements/promotions or simply brushed off because other people did not understand them.

The technical information! I am a board-certified speech-language pathologist and licensed by the State of California.
I completed my Master of Science (MS) degree at Loma Linda University with a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Prior to graduate school, I attended Pacific Union College and graduated with an Associate of Science (AS) in photography. Between my transition of getting my AS to my BS degree, I spent a year in Hong Kong teaching English at a secondary school; which solidified my joy and excitement working with people. After Hong Kong, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Loma Linda University.
Why choose me as your coach? I have a decade of experience practicing as a speech-language pathologist; during that time, I have worked with people from several countries and language backgrounds. As an SLP, I have a unique perspective and understanding of speech sounds, language, and communication that not many other communication improvement coaches have. My goal is to be a coach/support person who will help guide you and be in your corner as we navigate through your communication goals.

My approach is centered around building the individual's confidence and comfort in speaking English with others. We believe that everyone's voice is unique and does not need to be changed. However, if an individual is struggling to communicate clearly and it is affecting their mental health and social well-being, we are here to support and encourage them by reaching their full potential.

In my free time, I spend it with my toddler and family; with my perceived free time, I enjoy crocheting, hand lettering, scuba diving, and all things Disney.
